What is Botanical Alchemy?

 

Botanical alchemy is a process I've developed over several years, it is my version/blend of ecodying and botanical printing. 
I use heat and chemistry to extract the dyes, pigments and images of leaves, sticks, flowers and other natural material and impress it onto and into my papers. 
Each piece is a unique and individual piece of art that can never be recreated. This is a process I rarely teach, but save for my own artististic expression and enjoyment and use the papers and images I create as backgrounds for other work, to use in journals and to make other art. 
I do occasionally offer a workshop where I share some of my tips and techniques, usually to get people started, but my biggest advice is to just experiment and play. Creativity lives best through play.
